lies o lies lies lies
its like a forbidden indulgence
like a cunning way to own it all
you lighten a day
get me through each phase so suavely
you reward undeservedly
you give me smiles
you add to a day's worth
you carry me through troubled waters
you enlarge my humble facade
you are a giving friend
you wear a consequential fate but its a consequence often never proven fatal

but you are what my parents warned me about
everyone denies they love you too
but i know secretly,
they indulge in your uplifting presence
once in a while
and they themselves would have a jolly good time
